Arges

Arges it the space project of Philips Lighting and the Eindhoven University of Technology. The aim of the project is to get more insight in segregation phenomena in high intensity discharge lamps. These phenomena are typically caused by convection. Convection is driven by gravity, which can be "switched off" by bringing the lamp into space.

Last year, measurements have indeed been done in the international space station ISS. More information about this can be found on the Arges website
